DAY OF PRAYER FOR CARE AND RESPECT AT THE END OF LIFE

4 August 2017

This Sunday has been marked as a special day in the Church to pray for a just outcome especially for vulnerable people in the upcoming debate around legalising euthanasia and assisted suicide.

A prayer card will be available at Masses this weekend. Please take one home or you can download the prayer using the link below.

Our Parish Community was introduced to Deacon Jim Curtain at all Masses this weekend.

Jim, during his Homily had added that he was a Parishioner of St Mary's in the 70s and his last visit to St Mary's was for a funeral of his loved one in 1995.

He is looking forward to knowing us and bringing Christ's love to us.

BAPTISMS

Baptisms (also known as Christening) is the introduction of a person into the Church community. Through the waters of Baptism the person enters into the life of the Father, Son and Spirit. The child is dedicated to God and all that is good.

Parish Baptisms are held on Sundays, at 11.30am.

Please call Parish Office, and ask for Bernadette, Pastoral Worker, on Wednesdays, 9am - 5pm.

First Eucharist

Children are welcome to Communion from Grades 3 upwards.  Children in State and Private School will need to contact the Parish early in the year so that the required preparation can be given.

CONFIRMATION

I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and Fire.                              Matthew 3:11

Confirmation is celebrated every year for Grade 6 students. Children in State and Private Schools need to contact the Parish early in the year their child is eligible to receive the Sacrament, so that preparation can be given.
